Ponniyin Selvan: I Box Office: Here’s how much Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-starrer earned on Tuesday

After a successful start at the box office, Mani Ratman’s multi-starrer film ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’ is now looking at a constant downfall in its collections. However, the film has gone on to become one of the highest-grosser of the year. Take a look at how much it earned on Tuesday.

Mani Ratnam has been successful in enthralling the audience with its magnum opus, ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’. Based on the glorious history of the Chola empire, the periodical drama was one of the highly anticipated films of the year. Not only did it leave the audience impressed with how the ace filmmaker justified sitting on that director’s chair, but ‘PS: I’ also marks a reunion between the director and his ‘Guru’ actor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The multi-starrer film also features actors Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Trisha Krishan, Prakash Raj and Sobhita Dhulipala, among many others. ‘Ponniyin Selva: I’ hit the screens on September 30; it opened against Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan-starrer ‘Vikram Vedha’. Since the time of its release, the film has been performing well at the box office.

But, as days passed by, box office collections of ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’ are witnessing a constant drop. After the decline in the collections in the past, there was a jump in the business of the film once on the weekend. However, since the beginning of the week, there has been a huge drop in the film's earnings once again.

According to the initial figures revealed, ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’ did a business of Rs 4 crore at the box office on Tuesday. With this, the total collection of the film has now reached Rs 224.50 crores across the country, reportedly.

After a successful weekend collection, ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’, a day before, collected Rs 4.75 crores on Monday. Talking about its business as per the languages, the film earned Rs 4 crores in Tamil, Rs 0.1 crores in Telugu, Rs 0.5 crores in Hindi and Rs 15 lakhs in Malayalam.

Meanwhile, THE PAN-India film ‘Ponniyin Selva: I’ has become one of the highest-grossers of the year 2022. It was one of the very few films to have crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office within just three days of its theatrical release.
