Honour killing: Pakistani model Qandeel Baloch strangled

The Pakistani model, known for her suggestive photos and extremely controversial statements, had fled to Multan due to security reasons. 

“Baloch was killed by her brother over honour in Muzaffarabad’s Green Town area,” a police official told The Express Tribune. Police later confirmed that her brother has strangled her. Initial reports stated that she had been shot. 

The internet sensation had alleged that she was under a constant security threat after a high-profile Pakistani cleric, Mufti Abdul Qavi, was suspended from Pakistan's moon-sighting committee after taking selfies with a model. She has even requested for greater security a few weeks ago. 

As per a report, her brother, Fauzia Azeem, asked her not to pursue modelling and acting as a career. And her refusal to quit her career had become an 'honour' issue in the family.
