Actor Achyut Kumar has directed the Kannada play Kola enacted by popular stars Shailashree, Nandini Patawardhan, Kiran Naik, Bindu Raxidi, Apeksha Ghaligi, Sharada Jadugar and others. The play will be performed at Rangashankara today.
Bengaluru: Popular actor of Sandalwood, Achyut Kumar, has directed a Kannada play Kola that has seen more than 15 shows all over the state. The play will be performed at Rangashankara today at 3.30 PM and 7.30 PM.
This play is originally written by Marathi playwright Mahesh Elkunchwar under his Wada Tiology. This is the second part of the triology named Magna Talyakati being presented in Kannada as Kola. The play has been translated to Kannada by Nandini KR and Prashanth.
Actors Shailashree, Nandini Patawardhan, Kiran Naik, Bindu Raxidi, Apeksha Ghaligi, Sharada Jadugar along with Kaliprasad, Shrunga, Shivaprasad, Veeresh MPM have acted in the play.
The play has also been chosen to be performed at the National Bharat Rang Mahotsav to be held in February at National School of Drama in New Delhi.
Raghu Shivamogga of Churikatte fame has designed the lighting and actor Naveen Sanehalli will execute it. The play questions the identity of the people, their beliefs and the efforts to keep it together, preventing it from breaking down to pieces. Set in rural Vidharbha, the play talks about relationships, aspirations, joys, sorrows, anger, insecurity and other human emotions, which an individual can easily relate to.
