Chhatrasal Stadium murder case: Sushil Kumar's arms license suspended, taken to Haridwar for investigation

Sushil Kumar continues to remain in the news following his alleged and infamous involvement in the Chhatrasal Stadium murder case that led to the death of junior wrestler Sagar Rana. Days after his arrest, there is new information and ramifications for the Olympian.

According to the latest reports, his arms license suspended by Delhi Police. “We have suspended the arms licences of the arrested wrestler, Sushil Kumar, and of Navneet Kalra as both of them were booked in criminal cases. The process for cancellation of their licences has been initiated, and both of them have been served separate notices, seeking their explanation on why the cancellation of licences should not be done,” told OP Mishra (Joint Commissioner of Police) to Hindustan Times.

Meanwhile, Sushil was taken to Haridwar by the Crime Branch on Monday to decode the sequence of the events, reports PTI. He had allegedly fled to the city following the incident. Earlier, police took him and his associate, Ajay, to Bathinda and Chandigarh for the same reason.

In the meantime, DP has confirmed that nine arrests have been made in connection to the case. It has also stated that Sushil has not been cooperative during questioning about the issue and has been dishonest.

However, a video involving Sushil’s involvement in the murder surfaced on social media last week, confirming his participation in the murder case. In the video, he is seen hitting the deceased wrestler with a stick along with his associates.

DP also alleged that Sushil got the murder video filmed intentionally to terrorise the wrestling community in the country. Consequently, he has now been suspended by his current employer, Indian Railways.
