Bengaluru: Cricketers were shocked by the passing away of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who had acted in MS Dhoni’s biopic.

According to police, the 34-year-old Sushant committed suicide at his Mumbai home. The news broke on Sunday afternoon (June 14), shocking the film fraternity. Social media was flooded with messages from actors, cricketers and fans.

Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar said, "Shocked and sad to hear about the loss of Sushant Singh Rajput. Such a young and talented actor. My condolences to his family and friends. May his soul RIP."

India captain Virat Kohli wrote, "Shocked to hear about Sushant Singh Rajput. This is so difficult to process. May his soul RIP and may god give all the strength to his family and friends."

“I’m deeply shocked and saddened to hear about the suicide of #SushantSinghRajput  my heart goes  out for his family (sic),” wrote former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan on his Twitter account.

He added, “I chatted with him last at the Taj Hotel Gym, I praised him for his work in Kedarnath & his reply was ‘Bhai please do watch chhichhore’ you will love it! (sic).”

Former India wicketkeeper Kiran More said he had trained Sushant for M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. More wrote on Twitter, “It is a shocking moment for me personally, @itsSSR was someone whom I trained for the role as @msdhoni . I don't know how I or anyone who knows him will be able to recover from this shock, gone too soon my friend #SushantSinghRajput #RIPSushant (sic).”
