Mumbai: Two stalwarts of Indian cricket, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid will meet today (December 26) at the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) headquarters in Mumbai.

Currently, NCA, which is located in Bengaluru, serves as a rehabilitation centre for the injured cricketers. India’s injured players head to NCA to work on their fitness.

Batting legend Dravid, who is now the director of NCA, is likely to explain to Ganguly how the academy could be improved and also he will let the BCCI boss know the problems faced by the facility that is situated inside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Recently, NCA was in the news as it reportedly refused to conduct fitness test for India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

Now, Bumrah has been included both T20I and ODI squads for the home series against Sri Lanka and Australia respectively.

During the meeting between Ganguly and Dravid, Bumrah’s issue might also be discussed. It was Ganguly who had stopped Bumrah from playing a Ranji Trophy before he returns to international cricket.

Among other issues, the former India teammates are likely to discuss about the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC will pick the Indian selection committee with the current team’s tenure having ended. MSK Prasad and Co will make way for a new panel.

In October, after taking over the president of BCCI, Ganguly had flown to Bengaluru to meet Dravid at NCA. He along with BCCI’s new office-bearers visited Chinnaswamy Stadium.
