Team India has been dealt with a setback in its ongoing fourth Test against England at The Oval in London. On Saturday, head coach Ravi Shastri tested positive in the COVID Lateral Flow Test.
Subsequently, he was placed in isolation "as a precautionary measure" by the Board of Control for Cricket in India medical team. Along with him, Bharat Arun (bowling coach), R Sridhar (fielding coach), and Nitin Patel (physiotherapist) have also been isolated.
"They have undergone RT-PCR testing and shall remain in the team hotel and not travel with Team India until confirmation from the medical team. The remaining members of the Team India contingent underwent two Lateral Flow Tests – one last night and another this morning. The members, upon returning negative COVID reports, were allowed to proceed for Day 4 of the ongoing fourth Test at The Oval," announced BCCI in a release.

ESPNCricinfo reports that the second physio that has travelled with the team would be attending Team India in the remainder of the fourth Test at The Oval. The two teams are reported to have been staying in separate bubbles and have thus hand limited interactions.
"The players are absolutely fine, but four of the backroom staff, including their influential coach, Ravi Shastri, are not here. We wish you well, all of you," said Nasser Hussain on air on Sunday.
It happens to be the second instance of Arun entering quarantine, with the first such instance happening in July, along with Wriddhiman Saha and Abhimanyu Easwaran after net bowler Dayanand Garani tested positive. Also, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant had tested positive before the tour went underway.
