Bengaluru: The players’ auction is over and all eight squads have been assembled for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. On Thursday (December 19), 62 players were bought in Kolkata at the IPL 2020 players auction.

Australia’s Pat Cummins emerged as the highest paid cricketer at the auction. He was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 15.50 crore, the highest in the history of IPL for an overseas player.

Three-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had retained their core ahead of the auction and bought only four players. Leg-spinner Piyush Chawla was their most expensive buy. They bought two overseas and two Indian players in Kolkata.
