India lost a legend on Friday night when former Indian athlete Milkha Singh passed away. The 91-year-old was battling COVID-19 and its complications for the past month.
Following his demise, the nation is mourning, as every sector is paying homage and tribute to the legend. On the same note, the Indian cricket team, too, decided to honour the legend.
The Indians are wearing black armbands during their ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2019-21 final against New Zealand at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. "The Indian Cricket Team is wearing black armbands in remembrance of Milkha Singhji, who passed away due to COVID-19," conveyed BCCI in a message, reports PTI.

As for the match, the Indians lost the toss and have been asked to bat first. As of now, the opener Rohit Sharma and Submna Gill are off to a commendable start, putting up the opening 50-run stand while they remain unbeaten with lunch yet to kick in.
