Sussex bowler Mitch Claydon, however, landed himself in trouble after being accused of applying hand sanitiser to the ball during a match in England. He was playing in Bobb Willis Trophy against Middlesex. He took three wickets in the first innings during the game last month.

Now, Sussex club has taken action against the 37-year-old. He is suspended pending the outcome of the allegation.

“Mitch Claydon is suspended pending the outcome of an ECB allegation of placing hand sanitiser on the ball in our match against Middlesex. There will be no further comment at this stage,” Sussex said in an official statement.
