In a significant development, Indian domestic cricket stalwart Amol Muzumdar has been appointed as the head coach of the Indian women's cricket team.

Amol Muzumdar, a stalwart of Indian domestic cricket, has been named the head coach of the Indian women's cricket team. Muzumdar, who never had the opportunity to represent India at the international level, boasts a record of over 11,000 runs in first-class cricket across 171 matches, including 30 centuries. Throughout his illustrious 21-year career, he also participated in more than 100 List A matches and 14 T20 fixtures. He achieved several Ranji Trophy titles with Mumbai and later played for Assam and Andhra Pradesh.

The appointment was made by the Cricket Advisory Committee, consisting of Ms. Sulakshana Naik, Mr. Ashok Malhotra, and Mr. Jatin Paranjape, after a rigorous selection process. In a unanimous decision, the committee recommended Amol Muzumdar to take on the role. BCCI President Roger Binny welcomed the appointment and expressed confidence that Muzumdar's leadership would guide the Indian women's team to further success in various formats of the game. The team has consistently delivered strong performances in both bilateral and multi-nation events, and it is expected that the players will benefit significantly from Muzumdar's expertise and vision.
