Aaron Finch picks his favourite Indian bowler; talks about toughest paceman he faced

In an interaction with fans, Australia's ODI captain Aaron Finch spoke about his favourite Indian bowler, favourite Indian ground and more


Bengaluru: Australia’s ODI captain Aaron Finch has opened up on various issues as he interacted with fans on Friday (March 27) amid the lockdown due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

People in most countries have been forced to stay at home to contain the spread of coronavirus. India is under a 21-day lockdown. There are no sports events happening across the world.

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) has been deferred till April 15. However, in current situation, it is unlikely to happen in the next couple of months. Even the Tokyo Olympics 2020 has been postponed by one year.

With cricketers staying indoors, it has given them a chance to interact with fans on social media. Finch took questions from fans on the micro-blogging website Twitter.

One of the Twitter users asked the Australian right-hander about his favourite Indian bowler and he mentioned Harbhajan Singh’s name.

“Loved @harbhajan_singh in his prime, especially on spinning wickets,” Finch replied when asked about his favourite Indian bowler.

The 33-year-old Finch picked former Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson as the toughest bowler he had faced in international cricket.

The opening batsman praised both Indian paceman Jasprit Bumrah and Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc for their ability to bowl at the death.

When he was asked who he would give the ball in the final over of a match to defend eight runs, he said, “Either!! They are both great at the death!”

Finch said Dharamsala’s HPCA Stadium is his favourite ground in India. “Dharmsala is one of the most beautiful grounds in the world!”

In December 2019, Finch was bought for Rs 4 crore by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
