Synopsis

Visakhapatnam Andhra University Sanskrit Head of the Department has been accused of sexual harassment Students allege Prof Yedukondalu of sexually harassing them with vulgar language A harassment case was filed against him for misbehaving with a woman colleague

Visakhapatnam Andhra University Sanskrit Department students boycotted the class alleging sexual harassment from Head of Department Prof Yedukondalu. The students staged a dharna in the department demanding for his arrest.

Yedukondalu faced sexual harassment allegations previously and a case of harassment was filed by a woman professor for allegedly misbehaving with her.

The students, speaking to the media, accused the professor of using vulgar language while teaching. He described women in a derogatory manner causing embarrassment to the girl students. In spite of repeated warnings he never changed his way which irked the students.

The students also alleged his rule of having only female students in the front benches which is all the more uncomfortable for them.

Professor Yedukondalu, however, refuted the charges and claimed that the students are attacking him because of lack of attendance because of which they were exempted from writing the semester exams.
