Nellore police launches app to fight home invasion

Synopsis

Nellore police launch Locked House Monitoring System. The app will help police detect and respond faster to a home invasion.

In a bid to curb burglaries and home invasion, the Nellore police have launched an app.

‘Locked House Monitoring System’ (LHMS) can be downloaded from Google Play Store.

Nellore District SP Ramakrishna told the media that residents, who are going to be away from their homes for an extended period of time will benefit from the app.

House owners who want to avail LHMS can download the app from Google Play Store, register their personal details including their residential addresses and mobile numbers. After the digital verification, the residents can fill the details on the number of days they will be away from their house.

Through the app, the police control will directly receive the information, following which the police will install motion detector cameras in the house. In case of an invasion, the house owner and the police will receive an alert, following which a police team will be dispatched, Ramakrishna said.
