An Andhra Pradesh judge has become an online favourite after he selflessly came out to the rescue of a group of elderly persons who were being mistreated at a care shelter in Kadapa region.

Kadapa District Judge Gokavarapu Srinivas reportedly played an instrumental role in the rescue and rehabilitation of 35 elderly who were being subjected to abuse at a care home.

A video of the alleged abuse at the Good Heart Foundation was sent to the judge by an anonymous person. The clipping showed the elderly, all of who are above 70, being abused by Hariprasad and his wife Ganga Devi – the caretakers. The couple even would often beat up the couple and would make them do chores without feeding them anything.

Judge Srinivas then carried out a raid at the care home in the middle of the night and found that several of the elderly were starving and some of them even were sick. The Judge then asked the State to take over the care home and immediately got to feeding the inmates. There were also 18 inmates who were sick and had to be sent to the hospital immediately.

The images of the Judge feeding the elderly and even carrying some of them out of their beds took the Internet by storm.
