5 Spaniards die in a tempo collision in Andhra, 11 injured

Five Spanish nationals were killed on the spot when a tempo they were travellng in collided with a truck in Chittoor district. Seven people were reportedly injured in the incident that occurred at Punganur in AP near Karnataka-Andhra border.They were admitted in the Madanapalli Hospital.

It is said that the foreigners were part of developmental activities, initiated by the Rural Development Trust run by a group from Spain, in a village in Anantapuramu district. They were travelling to Puducherry from Anantapuramu district when the collision took place at a curve on the Madanapalle-Punganuru road.

Meanwhile, according to a report by the Times of India, Chittoor District Collector P S Paradyumna directed Madanapalle Sub-Collector Vetri Selvi to ensure that all kinds of assistance is given to the injured and the post mortem report of the dead should not be delayed anyhow.
