Kolar: The coronavirus pandemic and lockdown crisis has hit the Karnataka hard and the BJP government is focusing clearly on developing the economy post the pandemic crisis. However, an unwarranted, troubled statement from a Karnataka minister may become an opportunity being served on a silver plate to the hungry opposition.

JC Madhuswamy, Karnataka's law and minor irrigation and water resources minister, has now stooped quite low tainting BS Yediyurappa's administration letting the BJP leader bear the brunt of his mistakes.

The minister on inspection of KC Valley pump house at Kolar district, Karnataka, on Wednesday, abused Nalini, president of Karnataka farmers association, who came to submit a memorandum to the minister asking him to clear the encroachment at S Agrahara lake.

Irked by the woman's statement, he didn't just express unhappiness, but also abused Nalini by saying, "Shut up, rascal," and asked her to leave from the spot. This incident was witnessed by hundreds, who were present at the spot.

When Nalini confronted the minister for his rude behaviour and attitude towards farmers, women and the environment, the cops asked her to leave the place to diffuse the situation.

However, a video clip of BJP minister's rude behavior has now gone viral and irked the entire farming community and women groups.

Many in Kolar, who recently ensured a thumping victory to BJP candidate in the Parliament election said, "The situation post COVID-19 lockdown and the behavior of BJP minister have exposed the 'weak system' and how undeserving people are ruling people."

A leader, who wished not to be named, said, "This behavior will cost the ruling party and people will teach such leaders a lesson during election.”
