Citizenship Bill faceoff in Rajya Sabha: Mixed reactions from netas pour in

Congress leader and Muslim community leaders criticised the Bill, BJP leader justified the Citizenship Bill.
 

Vijayawada: After a smooth passage in Lok Sabha, the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill was tabled in the Rajya Sabha today. Chairman Naidu allocated 6 hours for the House to debate the bill, and an interesting discussion is now underway. The Bill seeks to grant Indian citizenship to refugees from Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Zoroastrian communities fleeing religious persecution from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh who entered India on or before December 31, 2014.  

Positive and negative reactions poured in with the Bill being tabled in Rajya Sabha. A Congress leader from Vijayawada raised doubts over Amit Shah and Prime Minister Modi’s actions in relation to the Bill.
