With the number of cases increasing by the day, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai has announced that Rapid Antigen Testing will be done randomly without citizens' consent at crowded places like malls, railway stations, bus depots, eateries, markets, tourist places and govt offices.

The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai warned that if anybody refused to get tested, they could be booked under the Epidemic Act 1897.

What's more, people who are selected for random Rapid Antigen Tests will have to bear the cost of the test. Refusal to pay up for the test will also invite prosecution under the Epidemic Act 1897.

The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai says that at the rest of the crowded areas, the civic body will foot the bill for the Rapid Antigen Test.

The civic body has ordered 27 malls in the city to conduct Rapid Antigen Tests on at least 400 visitors daily.

The number goes up to 1000 tests at Railway stations and MSRTC bus depots where passengers coming on inbound trains and buses will be randomly selected for tests.
