Lockdown memory revisits Maharashtra; Revised guidelines announced

With the number of Coronavirus cases surging in Maharashtra, the state government has announced new guidelines on Monday night and extended restrictions imposed in containment zones till March 31.

With the number of Coronavirus cases surging in Maharashtra, the state government has announced new guidelines on Monday night and extended restrictions imposed in containment zones till March 31.

Among the measures announced last night include:

* All cinema halls, hotels and restaurants will operate at 50 per cent capacity. These establishments will have to ensure that patrons wear masks and thermal checks are done before they are allowed in.

* Similar protocol will be followed in shopping malls as well where mall management will have to ensure that social distancing is maintained and the wearing of masks is enforced.

* No social, cultural, political and religious events to be allowed.

* No more than 50 people will be allowed to be present at a wedding. As for the last rites, up to 20 people will be allowed to remain present.

* Local authorities will put up a board on the door or location where a Covid patient is undergoing home isolation. Home quarantine stamp to be affixed on the positive patient. 

* Work from home is advised. All officer, barring health and other essential services, will now work with 50 per cent attendance.

* Managements of religious places will decide on the number of people they can allow every hour as per their space availability.
