Microsoft breaks tech taboo, enters marijuana trade

With marijuana slowly becoming legal in state after state in the US, the tech giant, Microsoft has come up with a most unique idea. It seeks to develop an app that can track a marijuana plant from "seed to sale".

It seems that Microsoft has decided to go with cooler trends and launch a one-of-a-kind app to aid the pot smokers. But that is not the express purpose of the new software. The software rather looks to help states keep a tab on the sale of the herb.

The app would be mostly used to track the commerce of the marijuana business in the states.

At least five states including California have given a green signal to the use of marijuana for recreational purposes and many other states are yet to vote.
