Here is why CM Siddaramaiah contesting from Badami is a wrong move

  • Siddalinga seer feels Siddaramaiah does not have a good chance of winning from Badami.
  • Siddalinga seer of Chowkimutt in Chikkasugoor has expressed that Siddaramaiah should not have contested from Badami, in the upcoming Assembly Election.

Siddalinga seer of Chowkimutt in Chikkasugoor has expressed that Siddaramaiah should not have contested from Badami, in the upcoming Assembly Election. He said that the Shivayoga Temple, which is opposing the decision of the government allotting separate religious status to Lingayat, is in Badami, where Siddaramaiah is contesting from. They might have calculated the votes and decided that Kuruba votes are more than Lingayat votes here, but this calculation will not work here, said the seer.  He also added that the government's decision regarding Lingayats will affect them a lot. Thus choosing Badami was a wrong decision. He ended by suggesting that if campaigned properly, Siddaramaiah could have won the Chamundeshwari seat without any difficulties.
