Bharat bandh: Metro functions as usual, Indira Canteens open in Bengaluru
Metro ran in intervals of seven minutes, but there was a dip in the number of commuters. State-run Indira Canteens too functioned without any problems in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: Bengaluru saw a mixed response to the Bharat bandh called by the trade unions in Bengaluru. Though buses were scarce in the city, Namma Metro services were not been affected. Metro services were seen running in intervals of seven minutes. However, there was a dip in the number of commuters. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) have ensured tight security checks at Metro stations. At least three to four police personnel have been deployed in every metro station. The bandh has not affected state-run Indira Canteens too. People were seen flocking Indira canteens for breakfast in Bengaluru.
