The politicians in Turkey's Parliament are all set to introduce a new bill, which will allow men accused of having sex with girls, who are under 18, to avoid punishment if they marry the victims.

The Parliament is planning to introduce the bill by the end of January 2020.

Meanwhile, women's rights campaigners in the country are opposing the 'marry your rapist bill'.

This bill has been pushed in the name of protecting and safeguarding family honour.

In 2016, a similar bill was introduced in Turkey, but was withdrawn after witnessing national and global outrage.

The 2016 bill said that the legislation would have only pardoned men if they had sex without the force of threat.
