Even as political uncertainity continues in the United States four days since the counting of votes for the 2020 presidential elections began, the country has been recording a daily spike in the number of coronavirus cases.

For three consecutive days, the coronavirus case tally has risen by over 120,276.

According to media reports, 19 out of 50 states have reported record one-day increases on Friday. However, 17 out of 50 states still do not require masks.

Some states have re-introuduced measures to limit public gatherings. However, no action plan has yet come at the Federal level.

According to the COVID Tracking Project, over 54,000 Americans are hospitalized with Covid-19 with about 11,000 of them in intensive care. Statistics also reveal that 16 states reported record high Covid-19 hospitalizations on Friday. Those states include Alaska, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
