Malappuram: An entire village in Malappuram district in Kerala needs to remain quarantined. The son of an 85-year-old man, who was recently tested positive for COVID-19, broke the quarantine rules and mingled with many in the society. This has put the health department in deep crisis. The route map of this person reveals that he had come in contact with at least 2000 persons after breaching quarantine protocol.

As the person is not willing to cooperate with the health department, the Kizhattur Panchayat is now planning for a general survey to find out his route map. The police have filed a case against him for trying to spread the deadly coronavirus disease in the society. The police also inquired about his journey and found that he had visited many mosques and attended several family functions, putting many at risk.

The police said that such activities will make the selfless efforts of the health department and district administration officials go waste. The cops further said that such irresponsible and hostile behaviour would be dealt with stingent action applying relevant sections of the Epidemic Diseases Act.
