YSRCP accuses Butta Renuka of receiving Rs 70 crore package to join TDP

Kurnool YSRCP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) MP Butta Renuka defected her party and unofficially joined TDP (Telugu Desam Party) today in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Speaking to the media on her defection YSRCP official spokesperson Parthasarathi demanded that Renuka should give an answer as to why she joined TDP and with what expectations. He alleged that YSRCP had given her an MP ticket though she didn’t have any political experience and made her win the 2014 elections.

He accused that there are rumours that she has received Rs 70 crore package from TDP to join the party. He criticised the Chandrababu government for purchasing MLAs and MPs like cattle in the market and that he is the perfect example of unethical politics. He said that the aim of YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s mahapadayatra commencing from November 2nd is to enlighten the public about the corruption, treachery and unethical political games of TDP.

He also said that there are reasons for Renuka’s officially not joining TDP as she is aware that she would be sacked by the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) government. BJP, an alliance of TDP, is discontented with TDP not taking any action against the defected MLAs. YSRCP demanded for their resignation and recontest but TDP is unwilling to do so.

But since Renuka is an MP, she wouldn’t be spared in the Central Parliament. Fearing her seat, Renuka cleverly played to unofficially support TDP while all her supporters officially joined TDP.
