US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for coronavirus  

Washington: On October 1, US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania tested positive for the coronavirus.  Trump tweeted,"Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!."

The White House doctor said Trump and the First Lady will quarantine "within the White House."

The news comes shortly after a senior aide Hope Hicks contracted the virus, whom Trump spent substantial time with this week. Trump said late Thursday he would go into quarantine after a top aide tested positive for coronavirus.

According to reports, the virus has killed more than 200,000 Americans and infected more than 7 million nationwide.
