Coronavirus: As COVID-19 cases surge, Saudi Arabia suspends travel to and from India

Synopsis

Saudi Arabia has suspended travel to and from India due to rising number of COVID-19 cases

Riyadh: On September 23, Saudi Arabia suspended air travel to and from India, Brazil and Argentina due to the increase in coronavirus cases.

According to reports, people with travel history to any of the mentioned countries 14-days prior to their arrival to the Kingdom, have also been barred.

General Authority of Civil Aviation said in a statement said, "Suspending travel to and from the following countries (India, Brazil, and Argentina) including any person who has been in any of the mentioned countries in the last (14) days prior to their arrival to the Kingdom."

The world tally of coronavirus cases stands at 31,764,198. While 23,371,496 have recovered, 974,559 have died so far. The US, the worst-hit country, 7,097,598 cases. It is followed by India, which has 5,650,540 cases, Brazil (4,595,335) and Russia (1,115,810).
