Left and Congess in a 'friendly fight' in West Bengal's Samsherganj

There was a face-off between Left Front and Congress after both the parties declared candidates from the same constituency in Samsherganj. The Left Front has declared Modassar Hossain as a candidate to contest from Samsherganj. On the other hand, the Congress had chosen Mohammad Rezaul Haque to contest from the same constituency.
 


Left Front-Congress-ISF is contesting the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections in alliance. This alliance is called the United Front. Recently, there was a face-off between the Left Front and Congress.

The Left Front has declared Modassar Hossain as a candidate and started campaigning in Samsherganj. The list of Congress candidates announced on Saturday (March 20) night again shows that Mohammad Rezaul Haque alias Montu has become the Congress candidate for the Samsherganj constituency.

Meanwhile, the CPIM has appealed to the Congress leadership to remove the candidate for the Samsherganj constituency. However, Congress is reluctant to withdraw its demand for this seat.

District Congress spokesperson Mehfuz Alam Dalim said, "Provincial Congress president Adhir Chowdhury had earlier told Left Front chairman Biman Basu that we have won a lot of votes in Samsherganj. So, support our candidate here.”

CPIM leader Jamir Mollah said the Left Front-Congress-ISF had formed an alliance to oust the Trinamool Congress-BJP. It has already been decided who will get how many seats.

Trinamool Congress district president Abu Taher Khan's sarcasm about the entanglement in this alliance is that he does not want to give up an inch of land to anyone. He never believes in alliances. That is why the alliance in Murshidabad is complicated.
