Congress leader Sikha Mitra hints to join BJP

On Monday (March 8), Congress leader Sikha Mitra accused Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury of sidelining her and her son Rohan Mitra in the party and claimed that there are high chances of her joining the BJP.
 


Congress leader Sikha Mitra on Monday (March 8) accused the state leadership of sidelining her and threatened to leave the party and join the BJP.

Sikha Mitra accused Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury of sidelining her and her son Rohan Mitra in the party and claimed that there are high chances of her joining the BJP.

Sikha Mitra said, “The way the state Congress is being run is unacceptable. The leaders are compromising with the core ideology of the Congress. Both my son and I have been sidelined at the party. We don’t have any future in the party.”

Meanwhile, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari visited Sikha Mitra at her residence on Sunday (March 7) evening.

After the meeting, the Congress leader said, “Suvendu has requested me to join the BJP. He has even assured us a ticket for the assembly polls. I haven’t made any decision as of now. I want to speak to our party president Sonia Gandhi before taking any decision. You never know what is waiting for you in the future.”
