After the incident, national in-charge of the BJP social media cell, Amit Malviya tweeted, “Amit Sarkar, Mandal president of Dinhata Town, was hanged to death by TMC goons, just 72 hours before the first phase. Is this what TMC meant by Khela Hobe? Bengal has been reduced to a blood field, with political killings becoming the norm. BJP has lost over 130 of its cadres.”

Amit Sarkar was seen hanging on the veranda of a veterinary hospital on Wednesday (March 24). Many people gathered near the hospital after the incident was reported in the area. BJP workers and supporters also started gathering.

The BJP alleges that the Mandal president was assassinated. BJP workers also alleged that the outgoing MLA of the area was directly involved in the incident. Upon receiving the news, the police went to the spot. Police are investigating whether the incident was murder or suicide.

However, the district leadership of the Trinamool has denied all the allegations. In this context, district Trinamool president Parthapratim Roy said, “The police should interrogate the person who made the allegation. If anyone or anyone in the BJP has complained, let him be questioned. Then the real information will come out. But any death is very sad. Now the police is under the Election Commission. So, let the police investigate whether it is murder or suicide.”
