Close to the heels of Bengaluru's moral policing and goondagiri incident a week ago in which Muslim woman was forced to get down from Hindu biker offering drop, the Mangaluru City witnessed a shameful incident of moral policing.
On Sunday, six private medical college students returning from Malpe beach were stopped near Suratkal by a right-wing group suspecting that Hindu girls are partying with Muslim boys.
One of the students in the SUV was also manhandled by the group and the traffic was impacted as onlookers gathered to see the drama.
Following the viral video, Mangaluru Police Commissioner directed the Suratkal Police to act immediately. The police arrested five people in this connection and is also trying to know whether these arrested persons have any previous cases.

Talking to Asianet Newsable, Mangaluru Police Commissioner N Sashikumar said that one of the students had claimed that he was arrested and based on the video and also the statement the accused have been arrested.
He also warned people and groups indulging in moral policing saying Mangaluru City Police will take stern action in person trying to disturb the peace and those who go against the law of the land.
Last week Muslim youths in Dairy Circle, Bengaluru, exhibited Taliban culture by stopping a Hindu biker offering drop to a Muslim co-worker. The youths took objection to woman wearing burkha and travelling with a non-muslim person. Following an uproar in media, the Bengaluru Police arrested two youths.
