Odisha has been witnessing torrential rains leading to landslides in the region. Scores of houses have been damaged in Gajapati district. Cattle have also lost their lives after coming under the debris.
Gajapati (Odisha): Landslide in Odisha has left as many as 20 houses damaged while killing 150 cows and goats.
Overnight rains resulted in landslide from Mukhalinga mountain which severely damaged 20 houses and partially damaged many others in the Kulanga village of Badakalakot panchayat under Gumma block in the district.
Officials have made temporary arrangements in a church to house affected families.Cooked food was provided to the distressed families, sources said.
A well marked low pressure in the Bay of Bengal has intensified due to which several districts are experiencing heavy to very heavy rainfall in the state.
