COVID-19: Bengaluru municipality undertakes spraying of chemicals to keep city free of infection

Bengaluru: To prevent coronavirus infection from spreading, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has started to spray bleaching power mixed with water and today spraying of chemicals was carried out from Hudson Circle to City Market.

According to joint commissioner, solid waste management, Sarfaraz Khan, the Palike will conduct the operation of spraying chemicals for the next 15 days.

"We will cover all 198 wards and will cover every nook and corner of the city. The BBMP also has roped in four drones to carry out aerial spraying," he said.

The BBMP was the first municipality in India to set up a state-of-the-art war room centre to track persons who are placed under home quarantine.
