With Karnataka going into 14-day lockdown starting today, the public which came out for one or the other reason were punished and their vehicles have been seized.
The police began 'lathicharge' drive from early morning and immediately after 10 am they began cracking on freeloaders.
In some cases some genuine persons were also beaten.
In Kolar, a transgender was beaten and held by hairs and paraded by women police. In Haveri, despite warning when hawkers placed tents to sell vegetables, they were beaten and chased away. Similarly, in Bengaluru's KR Market, bikers were blocked and beaten.
The scene in Raichur district in Hyderabad-Karnataka region was no different as auto rickshaw driver's who were seen coming out were beaten.
The police across the state also seized bikes, autos, cars and told the owner's to get their vehicles once the lockdown is lifted.
