Since the last five days, hundreds of people from 2 villages of Shivpura and Ganupura have been digging at a riverbed in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district.

They have been digging for gold.

The gold-hunt began when rumours floated that some people had found some Mughal-era gold coins near the Parvati River at Rajgarh.

The rumour spread like wildfire, drawing hundreds to the riverbed in the hope of finding more coins.

Five days of digging, though, hasn't yielded any gold coins.

Meanwhile, police officials have flatly denied the rumours. They reiterated that no gold coins were ever found from the area.

Nevertheless, indiscriminate digging continues at the Parvati riverbed.
