The DGCA has sought a full report from the airline and airport authority. The airport authority said that the flight was booked from Madurai. However, they were not informed about any marriage ceremony.

The SpiceJet crew has been off-rostered, and the airline directed to lodge a complaint against those not following Covid-appropriate behaviour with relevant authorities.

The video showed the attendees openly violating Covid-19 protocols. Nobody was seen wearing masks or adhering to social distancing norms.

According to guidelines laid down by the Tamil Nadu government, not more than 50 people are allowed at weddings. However, Dakshina and Rakesh's mid-air marriage was attended by around 160 people on board.
