Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak to heads of the Indian Missions abroad and stakeholders of the trade and commerce sector on Friday, during which he would re-emphasise his 'Local goes global' message.

Prime Minister Modi's interaction via video conferencing is expected to leverage and expand India's export and its share in global trade.

The prime minister, according to a PIB statement, will pitch for 'Local Goes Global - Make in India for the World'.

The interaction, which will also be attended by Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, is aimed at energising all stakeholders to utilise the local capabilities to fulfil the global demand and expand India's export potential.

Secretaries of over 20 departments, state government officials, Export Promotion Councils members and Chambers of Commerce will also attend the interaction.

The interaction, scheduled for 6 pm today, will reiterate the fact that exports have a huge employment generation potential, especially for MSMEs and high labour-intensive sectors. This may have a cascading impact on the manufacturing sector and the overall economy.
