PM Modi at Kedarnath shrine; set to unveil statue, inaugurate projects worth crores

According to sources, the Prime Minister will conduct prayers at the Kedarnath Temple and open the Shri Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi Sthal at about 8.35 am.

Preparations are done, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Uttarakhand to visit the Kedarnath Temple. He is expected to unveil the statue and inaugurate Adi Shankaracharya's Samadhi, rebuilt after being destroyed in the 2013 Uttarakhand floods.

According to reports, the PM will be joined at the inauguration event by a slew of dignitaries. BJP Gujarat state president CR Patil will accompany PM Narendra Modi to Kedarnath from Somnath Temple, while BJP Jharkhand MP Nishikant Dubey will accompany him from Deoghar Jyotirling. Others expected to attend include Dr Jitender Singh of the Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar, MP CM Shivraj Chauhan of the Ujjain Mahakal temple, and UP CM Yogi Adityanath of the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi.

According to sources, the Prime Minister will conduct prayers at the Kedarnath Temple and open the Shri Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi Sthal at about 8.35 am. He'll head over and assess the ongoing building projects. The prime minister will lay the groundwork for many initiatives and inaugurate significant infrastructure projects at about 9.40 am.
PM Modi will also dedicate critical infrastructure projects totalling Rs 130 crores, such as the Saraswati Retaining Wall Aasthapath and Ghats, the Mandakini Retaining Wall Aasthapath, Tirth Purohit Houses, and the Garud Chatti bridge on the Mandakini River. During his visit, he will also speak at a public gathering.

Bagish Ling, a priest of Kedarnath temple, informed news agency ANI they would welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi and do the Maha Rudra Abhishek and pray for the nation's welfare.  Dhami Previously, Uttarakhand tourism minister Satpal Maharaj stated that rehabilitation work in Kedarnath would not have been feasible without PM Modi's vision. He added that they look forward to seeing him here soon and kick off the second phase of construction at Kedarnath.
