New Governors appointed in 8 states, 4 Governors transferred

Amid speculation over a possible cabinet reshuffle, President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday appointed 8 new Governors and transferred 4 of them.

Amid speculation over a possible cabinet reshuffle, President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday appointed 8 new governors.

* PS Sreedharan Pillai, who was the Governor of Mizoram, has been transferred and appointed as Goa Governor.

* Satyadev Narayan Arya, who was the Governor of Haryana, has been transferred and appointed as Tripura Governor.

* Ramesh Bais, who was Governor of Tripura, has been transferred and appointed as Jharkhand governor

* Thaawarchand Gehlot has been appointed as Governor of Karnataka.

* Bandaru Dattatraya, who was Governor of Himachal Pradesh, has been transferred and appointed as Haryana Governor

* Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati has been appointed as Governor of Mizoram.

* Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel has been appointed as Governor of Madhya Pradesh. 

* Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has been appointed as Governor of Himachal Pradesh.

The appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
