Mumbai: Cylinder blast injures at least 15 in Dharavi, 5 in critical stage

Mumbai: In a horrific incident, at least 15 people suffered injuries in a cylinder blast in Dharavi at around 12.30 pm on Sunday. Of these, 5 are said to be in critical stage. 

The incident was reported at 12:28 pm and the fire extinguished at 12:43 pm by the Mumbai Fire Brigade, ANI report said.

The injured were rushed to Sion Hospital in Mumbai and are receiving treatment.

A Times of India report stated, preliminary reports suggest there was a cylinder leakage which caught fire. The incident was reported from Shahu Nagar at Dharavi. Officials said that out of the 14 injured, two people have sustained over 70% burns while the remaining 12 have sustained minor burns, the report added.

The exact cause of the gas cylinder blast at the house in Dharavi is yet to be ascertained.
