Milestone for India's Covid vaccination drive; 1 crore doses administered in a single day

India has achieved yet another milestone in its Covid-19 vaccination drive on Friday. The country administered more than one crore doses of Covid vaccine in a single day.

The Prime minister termed the crossing of the 1 crore mark as momentous. 

PM Modi congratulated those who received the vaccines and thanked them for making the vaccination drive a success.

According to data released by the Union Health Ministry, the country's vaccination coverage has crossed 62 crore (62,09,43,580) landmark milestone. Of these, over 47.9 crore people have received their first dose while over 14 crores got their second doses.

More than 59.86 crore vaccine doses have been provided to states and Union Territories so far through the central government. Another 17.64 lakh doses are in the pipeline. 

As per government records, over 4.05 crore vaccines remain unutilized with the states and Union Territory.
