Karnataka postpones Common Entrance Test to August 28, 29

 As per the revised schedule, Biology (first shift) and Mathematics (second shift) exams will be held on August 28. Physics and Chemistry exams will be held on August 29 in the first and second shifts respectively.


Bengaluru: The Karnataka Common Entrance Test that was scheduled for July 7 and 8 have been postponed. CET will now be conducted on August 28 and 29. Kannada language test will be held on August 30.

Karnataka common entrance test is a state-level entrance examination that is conducted for admissions in various courses such as undergraduate Engineering, Technology, Yoga and Naturopathy Farm science and Pharma courses. In the wake of the ongoing second wave coronavirus pandemic, the Karnataka government took this decision.

As per the revised schedule, Biology (first shift) and Mathematics (second shift) exams will be held on August 28. Physics and Chemistry exams will be held on August 29 in the first and second shifts respectively.

Similarly, the Kannada Language test for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates will be held at 10:30 am to 11:50 am while the second shift shift will be from 2:30 pm and 3:50 pm on August 30.

As per the official announcement it reads, " Karnataka postpones common entrance Test, KCET 2021 in the wake of covid second wave and postponement of 2nd PU exams. New dates for KCET is August 28 for bio and maths August 29 for Physics and Chemistry while Kannada language test will be conducted on August 30."

Applications will be invited online shortly, said KEA in a press release. The dates for CET have been changed following the postponement of II PU exams and rise in Covid cases.
