Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa was discharged from Bengaluru's Manipal Hospital after he recovered from Covid-19.
He is likely to remain in home isolation for the next few days.
"I am healthy now after the treatment. I have called cabinet meeting today at 4 pm today," the CM is quoted as saying by ANI.
He had tested positive last Friday and was admitted to Manipal Hospital with fever and other mild symptoms. He had participated in the all-party meeting chaired by Governor Vajubhai Vala virtually from the hospital.
This is the second time that the Chief Minister contracted the disease after the first time in August last year.
Yediyurappa had got himself inoculated with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on March 12, and was administered Bharat Biotech's Covaxin.
The Chief Minister, who had been campaigning for April 17 bypolls to Belgaum Lok Sabha, and Maski and Basavakalyan assembly segments had developed fever while campaigning in Belagavi (Belgaum LS), but had tested negative, however, during a subsequent test on April 16 he tested positive and was hospitalised.
Karnataka is seeing a big rise in Covid-19 cases with the state reporting over 23,000 cases for the first time on Wednesday.
