New Delhi: A Delhi court has allowed pleas moved by 22-year-old activist Disha Ravi seeking a copy of the FIR registered over the toolkit in connection with the Farmers Protests, as well as a copy of the remand application.

Pankaj Sharma, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Patiala House Court also granted her access to warm clothes, masks, books etc, and allowed her to speak to her mother, other family members. As per the Court's direction, during the police custody, Ravi will be allowed to speak with her lawyer for 30 mins and to her family for 15 mins, on a daily basis.

Applications seeking the aforesaid relief were sought by Ravi through her counsel. Ravi's police custody ends on February 19.

The activist was arrested from Bengaluru last Saturday by the Delhi Police for allegedly creating and sharing a protest toolkit backing the farmers' agitation against the Centre's new farm laws. Ravi along with Mumbai-based lawyer Nikita Jacob and Pune engineer Shantanu Muluk created the toolkit and shared it with others to tarnish India's image, the Delhi Police had claimed on Monday.

In a related development, the Delhi Commission for Women took suo moto cognizance of reports that Ravi was arrested in violation of her constitutional rights under Article 21 and also without obtaining a transit remand.

Rebuffing reports of lapses in Disha Ravi's arrest, Delhi Police Commissioner SN Srivastava said that all the procedures were followed in arresting the climate activist.

"The law doesn't differentiate between a 22-year-old and a 50-year-old. She was produced before a court which sent her to 5-day police custody. It's false when people say that there were lapses in the arrest," he added.
