Sushil Kumar had been on the run ever since it was alleged that he was involved in the murder of wrestler Sagar Rana during a brawl between two groups at the Chhatrasal Stadium on the night of May 4.

On May 18, Sushil Kumar had approached the Rohini court seeking anticipatory bail, claiming that the probe against him was biased. The court, however, rejected his petition and noted that he was prima facie the main conspirator and allegations against him were serious in nature.

Sushil Kumar won a bronze medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and a silver medal in the 2012 London Olympics.
