Bihar government allows schools, colleges to reopen with 50% capacity, several COVID-19 curbs eased

The Bihar government has issued new unlock guidelines and has allowed colleges and universities to reopen.
 

Patna: Announcing further relaxations in the lockdown restrictions as part of the phased-wise Unlock process, the Bihar government eased several Covid-19 curbs.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Monday announced that universities, colleges, technical educational institutions, government training institutes and schools in the state will be allowed to open with 50% attendance.

(2/3) विश्वविद्यालय, सभी कॉलेज, तकनीकि शिक्षण संस्थान, सरकारी प्रशिक्षण संस्थान, ग्यारहवीं एवं बारहवीं तक के विद्यालय 50% छात्रों की उपस्थिति के साथ खुलेंगे।
शैक्षणिक संस्थानों के व्यस्क छात्र-छात्राओं, शिक्षकों एवं कर्मियों के लिए टीकाकरण की विशेष व्यवस्था होगी।

  Nitish Kumar said special arrangements will be made by the Bihar government for vaccination of students, teachers and staff of educational institutions.

Also, government and private offices can resume full-fledged operations, he said. Government and private offices have so far been allowed to reopen and function with 50% staff.

Kumar added the restaurants and eateries can also work with 50% seating capacity. The government has said that standard operating procedure, guidelines and compliance of Covid appropriate behaviour will be strictly followed.

  According to the latest health bulletin, Bihar has registered 109 new Covid cases and 211 recoveries in the last 24 hours. The state's recovery rate is at 98.47% which is higher than the Centre.
