New Delhi: Amid rising coronavirus cases and reopening of schools, the Congress said that the Delhi government was hiding facts and spreading false propaganda about parents wanting to send their children to government schools in the state.

The AAP government claimed that 2 lakh students of private schools are demanding admission in government schools in Delhi. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal claimed the same in a tweet.

This is happening for the first time in India https://t.co/3BiH64Ggcg

However, Congress was sharp to retort with facts. Congress General Secretary Ajay Maken challenged Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on this claim of the government and said in a tweet that Kejriwal is spreading lies. They should tell the truth. If he doesn't tell the truth by tomorrow, he will reveal this issue.

Arvind Kejriwal government claim:

The AAP government claims that around 2 lakh students studying at private schools are now demanding admission in government schools in Delhi. The number of students enrolling in government schools in Delhi has increased rapidly.

Now, students are more interested in studying in a government school in Delhi than in a private school. In the last few years, more than 2 lakh students from private schools have enrolled themselves in government schools in Delhi.

While enrolment of students in the period of 2009-2010 to 2018-2019 paint a different picture than what the AAP government has claimed.
