Personal mobile phone numbers of a lot of film personalities were found in the mobile phones seized from one of the culprits in the drug bust case, Calvin Mascaranhas, who was allegedly supplying drugs to school and college children, along with at least nine other gang members, all of whom have been arrested.
Prominent Telugu film hero Ravi Teja, director Puri Jagannadh, heroine Charmee Kaur, item girl Mumait Khan, heroes Tarun, Navdeep, Tanish, P Subbaraju, singer Ananda Krishna Nandu, cinematographer Shyam K Naidu, art director Chinna and Srinivasa Rajulu were among those who received notices. Some of these have refuted the accusations while others tried to leave the country but were stalled by the police.
Navdeep, Subbaraju, Tanish, Nandu have already responded via the media and refuted the allegations. Nandu went a step ahead, directly approached the excise office and asked why his name had come in the list. He said he was ready for any investigation and challenged them to collect his blood samples.
Navdeep accused the media for cornering him. The culprit might have had his phone number as he conducts many events and would have shared his contact but not for any drugs. Tarun said that the drug allegations caused him a mental agony.
Charmee in her instagram post quoted that if someone tries you pull you down it means your way above them accusing people of mud-slinging.
Many in the industry gave a clarity about their relation with drugs. But the top celebrities like Puri Jagannadh and Ravi Teja are yet to respond. Though media have tried to get their response, they have been unreachable.
In another news, two prominent Tollywood celebrities tried to leave for Bangkok but the police stalled them.
